The Silver Eyes Series

Fae Touched – Book One of
The Silver Eyes Series

Author: Leona Urbansky

Leona Urbansky came to me with a clear vision for her second fantasy novel. She wanted the cover to showcase Argyros (a black tiger with white stripes) and the tender yet wild relationship between him and Skitter. The jungle setting is woven deeply into the story, and it was important that the design felt rooted in that world.

She opted for both a paperback cover and an ebook version, giving us the opportunity to bring this world to life across both print and digital formats.

Book Blurb (as published):
Skitter values the isolation she's found on her small uninhabited island. Proving to herself that she could survive alone has brought her peace, but that's ruined when she happens upon a half drowned man, clinging to life on her beach as a vicious storm rolls in. Is this man here for her because of her past? Or is this meeting destined by the stars.

Argyros is a moonshifter trying to get home after a tragic turn on a Baron's ship. Nearly dying beneath the waves, he shifts into his inner beast before making it to a sandy beach of what he believes to be a deserted island. Much to his surprise a woman half his size saves him. Is she working with the people that tried to kill him or was she divinely placed in his path for a grander reason he has yet to figure out.

Creative Direction & Strategy

Because I had the opportunity to beta read Fae Touched, I came into this project with real insight into the story's most meaningful moments. We explored a few sketches together, but Leona knew immediately when she saw the right one. This being our second cover together, she trusted me completely to take it from there.

The chosen concept centers on Skitter on Argyros's back, framed by the lush jungle that shapes so much of the story. His rare coloring became the visual anchor of the entire composition, and the typography and illustration work together to create something that feels both wild and deeply personal.

Impact

Fae Touched deserved a cover that matched the depth of its story. I believe we delivered exactly that! When a cover artist gets to read the book first, it shows. This project is proof of what becomes possible when creative trust is given freely and fully.
